You guys do a fantastic job! High quality, much thought behind it. I really appreciate it. One thing I'm wondering...it seems that the media, specifically the words on the screen, have frequent trouble staying with the leader or adapting to a change. Also, from the section behind the sound board up high, where we usually sit, we can't see the words when they're only on the center screens. The lights block the top 3/4 of the screen, so all we see are the last lines. Any thoughts?

Wow! What an undertaking of a conference! Wonderful organizing--I applaud you. I love how Saddleback people pull together and pull it off. P.S. Was it actually less expensive than years past (per comment made by Rick Muchow)?

So what's the deal with the black tape on the guitars? I noticed last night that Jonathan Butler had some on his, then I noticed the guys from Generation Unleashed had some on theirs, tonight I saw that Human Z3ro had some on theirs. Anyone got any ideas on what this is about?

Havin a great time!! It is encouraging to see the younger people involved. We brought our 17 year old son who has been playing drums on our worship team since he was twelve, and it's good to let him see all the opportunity for ministry for people his age.

Thanks for another geat event so far!!

I've been serving at Saddleback for awhile now and I'm very musical as well. But it's my 1st time to attend the Worship Conference and I've never seen such great outpour of talents, great music and presentations!I'm still in deep awe most especially knowing that these great people with such great talents love the Lord so much and that they utilize their gifts to worship the Lord!!! I am extremely blessed to be one of the Ambassadors and be of service in this spectacular event.Kudos!Saddleback Creative Arts Ministry!!!-Anne O.

Could the black tape on the guitars, etc, be to cover up brand names that aren't sponsors of the event? Just wondering...

I also think it is awesome seeing the young people. I am inspired to go back to my church and really invest in the teaching the children and youth about worship and how to worship and to hand off worship leadership to the next generation. I also think it is awesome seeing the Muchow family. I hope that one day my girls might be leading in worship with me through singing or playing instruments. Awesome. From generation to generation!

Hey, Vocal Ministers! check this out! please go and see either Seth Riggs or Tim Carson tomorrow afternoon for the workshops...you'll learn a lot from them!

> Please check Ms. Alva Copeland's class in the afternoon... she's a great worship leader as well!....

> By the way, Debbie Rettino's classes are incredible esp about training and mentoring worship leaders.

I applaud Saddleback for all the wonderful workshops available for the worshippers. I had sooo much fun and the people that I've talked to and hanged out with were very grateful, as well. Thank you!!!

What a great and fun time we had with Ohana and a great Luau this afternoon! Pastor Benny and his team pulled it off once again.

Thanks for a terrific conference....very powerful, and I love the spiritual emphasis in EVERY event! One small comment....why are prices so high in the resource tent? For instance, Muchow's Top Ten with 3 parts is $50. My very small church could really use some of the Saddleback music resources like this and like the songbooks, but the prices are very high. I know big churches can afford better, but I'm trying to move a small church forward. Don't let me complaining dampen things though.....I love this conference and hope I can come back! Thanks to the Saddleback team for all the brains and hard work put it!

Hi Anonymous (you must have hated that name growing up!),
Our new Creative Arts website has free downloads of songs & charts from Saddleback writers. The site is a recent addition, so there are only a handful up right now, but we'll keep adding songs there, so check back!

Tape on guitars....

Jonathan Butler specifically had tape put on his guitar to cover his sound holes. We are using floor wedges, and covering the sound holes increases the volume before feedback issue. Most likely the same was true about the other players.

so, if we don't have someone to carry the cable for the onstage camera guy, I'll do it. The poor guy's running from side to side and has no time to set up shots cause he's tugging his own cable!

Feelin' the pain...

I wold like to thank the staff of Saddleback for a great time of growth both technically and spiritually. I would like to especially give credit to your grounds staff for keep the campus so clean! I see them constantly monitoring trash cans, bathrooms etc. This kind of attention adds to the great experience of Saddleback!! This was my first time here and I will definitely see you next year!!!

this is a prayer request. we are Hmong. if you do not know who the Hmong people are, we're a group of ethnic people from southeast asia who fought for the CIA in a secret war during the vietnam war against the communists. after the war, many of us fled to America because fear of persecution from the communist government. In America now, there's about 200,000 Hmong people but the majority of the Hmong are still over seas in laos, thailand and china. In laos, since the end of the war, many Hmong people fled to the jungles of Laos in pursuit of safety. since then the laotian gov't has been hunting down these people and killing them. The Hmong people who are being hunted are not the generation that fought in the vietnam war but still are persecuted as terrorists. we ask if the church here in saddleback can please pray for humantarian relief for the those who are still being hunted. pray that the global community would recognize the genocide that is happening in laos and help the Hmong people there.

I thoroughly enjoyed the conference! My only distractions came with some of the graphics behind the words. Many times they were so random that it took away from the words and focus (example: a shower head with water, then the drain, etc. older seniors smiling..) And I wish the power point had kept up with what we were singing better. That didn't seem to improve over the course of the conference.

Loved the entire thing, but was a little disapointed with some of the limited availability of the main artists material. For example, Brenton Brown's CD was only available the day he was there, same for Lincoln Brewster and Generation Unleashed. I realize this is more the artists control, but as an individual who tries to pray about a purchase rather than impulse buy, it was dissapointing. An amazing job by ALL involved. Thank you for allowing me three days on your beautiful campus, and I'll see you next year! God bless

The Chick-Fil-A bags were OK, but where was the food? I really enjoyed having it on campus the last few years!!

Did anyone else find the self dispensing soap spouts in the mens bathroom by the sanctuary a bit odd and disturbing?

An amazing three days of worship and a wonderful learning experience. The speakers were all very interesting and of course the musicians wer totally awesome. My husband and I will cherish the time spent worshipping our awesome Lord with you. It was so wonderful that we cringe at the thought of voicing our one disappointment. But we believe it is important enough to tell you.
We felt the communion process last night was confusing. The body and blood were distributed but no directions were given before hand in how we were to proceed. It was left to each individual when to eat and drink of this precious gift, but later the song and visual were so powerful that had we been given some indication of the timing, we would have waited.

Communion: Our group saw the same thing. The lady in front of us was left holding 3 stacked trays of the drink... :)

Since I'm not exactly sure where to leave my comment I'll do it here. Each year (this is my 6th) I have been encouraged and renewed. This year was a little tougher. At the beginning of the week I was a little bummed. When being faced with such incredible talent and gifts, mine seemed lacking. By the end of the week though I did leave with more learnings than self pity. I am a vocalist on our worship team and also the administrative assistant for our worship pastor. I was able to attend the breakout with Cindy Meyers. This was so encouraging and useful for me. Cindy's attitude and servant's heart were very evident. Also that she loves what she does. While this wasn't necessarily life changing, I left encouraged and ready to face the challenges that I love/hate each week.
Thank you for all you do to help us to "learn" to not only do our jobs, but our ministries better. Although everything doesn't apply to me there is always something I leave with.
I would like to add that having the spouse of the worship pastors being able to attend somehow is a great idea.

Rick, Tony, Cindy, and team: You guys are truly awesome! I can't even tell you how much my wife and I were blessed by this conference! It was our first time at Saddleback, and we were just blown away by the entire atmosphere. We were privileged to sing in Tommy Walker's choir (Cindy, what is a jewel-colored shirt again? LOL), and that experience alone was worth twice the price of admission! Just, all around, a tremendous experience that has left me full of passion to help my church experience worship more fully and deeply. Thank you so much!

I had a great experience at the conference, but being a nursing mother I wish there would have been a place for the baby and I to have some downtime. The nursing room was a huge blessing but was only open during the general sessions. After talking with the other mothers in the nursing room, we hoped that maybe next year one of the infant/nursery rooms could be available during breaks and breakout sessions. Thank you for allowing me to come and bring my baby.

It was my first time attending the Worship Conference and loved every minutes of it! Met so many people and had a marvelous time. The worship experience was awesome! The breakout sessions I attended from Rick M. to Debby R. to Abe L. & company...such great talent and show of generosity and love from these people. The festival stages were enjoyable as well. What a blessing! Great job to the Creative Arts Team!

Although some of the meals wouldn't have been the 1st thing I'd order out for, some others were pretty good! But the best thing was, the way you got them to us so quickly and always with a smile. We didn't have to think for one second what we were going to eat while we were there. And, the snacks were really and truly appreciated!! All we had to do was focus on the conference and enjoy ourselves! Thanks you so very much!
